White Roof for Bifacial Solar
I'm in the process of getting some rooftop solar for my flat garage roof. Since I have only a small area to work with, I wanted to get as much output as possible from the few panels that I'll have. To that end, since the roof needed replacing anyway, I decided to get a white PVC roof and bifacial panels. Here's a look at the work in progress.
The posts are the solar mount footings, which needed to be installed first so that the PVC could be heat-sealed around them. The roof should be finished today, but we're still waiting on a permit for the solar, so it will be a few more weeks before the panels are installed. I'm looking forward to seeing what sort of output I will get, although they won't get a real workout until next spring.
P.S. The dark spots on the PVC are just dirt and mud from the workers' boots. That should all wash off the next time it rains.
