How prismatic micro-textures trap bouncing photons inside solar panels

Even with advanced anti-reflective chemical coatings, smooth glass on solar panels still suffers from a fundamental optical challenge: when sunlight hits the glass at a shallow, oblique angle during early morning or late afternoon, a significant fraction of incoming light photons bounce off the surface and escape back into the atmosphere.

To capture these stray photons, high-efficiency EcoFlow rigid and portable solar panels incorporate physical Prismatic Micro-Textures directly into the glass surface.Instead of a flat, smooth sheet, engineers etch microscopic prism-like V-grooves and pyramid structures across the exterior glass.

When an incoming light ray hits the slanted wall of a microscopic prism, it doesn't bounce straight back out into the air.Instead, the geometry of the prism physically refracts and redirects the bouncing photon downward into an adjacent prism face. This gives the light ray a second or third chance to penetrate deep into the silicon wafer rather than being lost as optical reflection waste.
