DPUX Questions

I have almost decided to go with the DPUX for house with SP3. I will start with a bundle of 1 base unit, 1 battery and SP3. I will add batteries up to maximum for base unit (10 if I have read specs correctly). Then I will get another base unit as funds allow. Can I split battery stack to new unit, or are the batteries permanently paired to the unit they started with?
