I really thought I was heading toward a simpler life, like downsizing and living alone. But life had other plans. When my grandkids started moving in, everything shifted. Suddenly it wasn’t just about me anymore, it became about all of us.EcoFlow was already a part of my life, but once the grandkids moved in, I started looking at it differently. I realized they needed their own units too. Yep these young ones love their video games and we all know that can run the electric bill up very quick. I also wanted to teach them how to take care of what we have and understand the value of EcoFlow. Yep, it’s bigger than just saving money. I’m getting the next generation in my family familiar with EcoFlow and how to use it, how to manage energy, and how to be prepared.We’re not just using EcoFlow; we’re growing with it. The Delta Pro Ultra will become an integral part of our daily lives, enabling us to live off the grid, if not entirelyIn a world that feels increasingly unpredictable, finding ways to reduce electricity costs and stay prepared gives me a sense of control and peace of mind. My journey began with the EcoFlow Delta Pro and the original Smart Home Panel, and I’ve been very happy with them. They may no longer be at the forefront of my energy system as I’ve upgraded to the Delta Pro Ultra and Smart Home Panel 2, but they are still quite useful for portable power and stand ready to help if the situation calls upon them.I’ve added solar wherever I can to help cut costs, become more energy independent, and lessen the risks of power outages. First was a south-facing pergola to provide both shade and power to the Delta Pro Ultra. From there, I decided to build a solar fence using leftover panels from that project, and I’ve seen encouraging results—even through this winter.The Delta Pros and Ultras have been very reliable, and that reliability has given me the confidence to continue expanding my system. What started as backup power has grown into a more complete energy solution for my home. I’m looking forward to continuing to refine and expand it, adding more solar capacity and finding new ways to improve efficiency and resilience.

Thanks to EcoFlow, it was a successful winter skating on the nearby frozen pond. With my River 3 and Delta 2 powering the water pump, I was able to keep the ice surface nice and smooth. Bringing out the EcoFlow multi functional camping light allowed for working and playing long after sunset. Now with the ice melted and the weather warming up, I hope to finish a solar powered tool shed - until in 9 months, get back out on that ice again with EcoFlow!

EcoFlow makes a difference in my home by helping me keep the essentials running when outages happen. My main priority is protecting the food first, so being able to run my fridge, freezer, and key kitchen appliances gives me real peace of mind. What I appreciate most is that it turns backup power into something practical. It helps me stay calm, protect what matters most, and keep my home functional when the grid is down. What started as a hobby has since evolved into a an Ecoholic lifestyle that is more than just adding EF gear to the collection. In addition to buying solar panels and power stations, I have also planted hundreds of trees and wildflowers (carbon sequestration and giving back to Mother Nature), constructed an all-electric home equipped with a geothermal system, incorporated energy-efficient appliances like a heat pump dryer and more efficient dehumidifier, and purchased an electric vehicle to stop purchasing a form of energy which I light on fire repeatedly. All of this EF gear helps me reduce the need for the power company which predominantly burns dino rocks and dino juice to generate its power. I’m also renovating a vintage camper so we can explore of national parks and other natural wonders across the US - a quest to get back to nature. My collection nearly every EcoFlows includes a mix of every DELTA Pro: OG, 3, Ultra, Ultra X, and hopefully more in the future. I have to save a lot of pennies to buy this stuff, but then all future power production from power stations and solar panels is free. There is no financial ROI on this stuff today (unless the power company triples the price of power), so I am paying to be green. This journey is about embracing sustainability to reduce emissions, minimize energy consumption, and maximize self-sufficiency while using the grid as a backup power source.

I started my power journey as a way to extend my camping trips. My first foray was a 300W/286Wh power station to charge my phones and electronics. EcoFlow has surpassed anything I thought possible just a few years ago. From working in the park to unexpected power outages and dead alternators, EcoFlow has been there for me.Now, with all that's happening around us, I'm ready to be independent. As I look towards being a first time home buyer, I'm looking at ways to save money while keeping the environment in mind. My good friend used AI to make this from a photo of my EcoFlow set up. I love this picture and I LOVE MY ECOFLOW setup. Over the last 18 months we have definitely learned to #PowerDifferent. We use the (3) Delta Pro Ultras (each w/ 5 batteries) and the Smart Home Panel 2 to power our whole home. Now Ecoflow has even better products for this application. I look forward to upgrading! We have 12.3kW of solar that feeds the DPUs and allows us to run off grid a majority of the time. In 2025 we were off grid for 200 days w/ 78.7% of our consumption coming from solar. In Sept of 2025 we added 25% more solar panels. So far this year we are at 87.6% energy independent (that includes 2 months of winter). We don't have many power outages, but with the EcoFlow we don't deal with the dirty power and brown outs that are an everyday reality here and are bad for electronics. Running our house on EcoFlow, we know we have clean, consistent, and reliable energy. These EcoFlow products are saving us money, protecting our stuff, and preparing us for the unknown. But not just any treehouse—it had to be magical, with a glow that would light up the yard like starlight. 🌟I’m helping the dad with the renovation, and we’ve got some really cool plans to make this space not only fun but also functional. And we're back! It's been a couple of days and I've managed to successfully complete the surprise home energy system upgrade for my parents.We’ve now got the EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra X system set up with four extra batteries, Smart Home Panel 3 installed with all the circuits marked out for easy visibility, and some solar panels securely placed outside and connected for free solar energy generation. We're even all linked up with the EcoFlow app so they have fast and easy access to all their energy info.Now they can:-see exactly how and where they’re using energy-store power and use it when and where it makes sense-avoid stress about outagesBut to be totally honest, the best part of this entire process was the look on their faces when they saw what I'd done. Initially they were worried it'd be too confusing for them to figure out but after about two minutes of explaining and showing them everything, they had it all figured out.So now—less worrying about bills. Less guesswork when it comes to electricity usage and pricing. More control and more peace of mind for them and for me. I’m also planning to add outdoor solar panels, so they can generate their own power during the day.The goal isn’t just “cool tech” (although… it is very, very cool). It’s more about practicality:-lower electricity bills-backup power when they need it-more control over how they use energyAnd honestly, it gives me some peace of mind too—knowing they’ll be covered during outages or any unexpected situations.Best part? There’s so many things I love about all the EcoFlow products I have but this post is not about that. I’m not sure if it’s because of the great affinity I have for the brand but with this “collection” it’s becoming more and more apparent that I don’t like to get rid of my empty EcoFlow boxes 😊
