☀️ Nennleistung im Alltag / Rated power in real life

🇩🇪 DEUTSCH

🇬🇧 ENGLISH

Why doesn’t a 450 Wp panel produce 450 watts all the time? Rated power is measured under Standard Test Conditions (STC). These include 1,000 W/m² irradiance, a cell temperature of 25°C and a defined light spectrum. On a roof, these conditions keep changing. Crucially, a cell temperature of 25°C is not the same as an outdoor temperature of 25°C!

Actual output depends on:

• Sunlight intensity

• Solar cell temperature

• The angle of incoming light

• Shading and dirt

The Wp rating allows panels to be compared. It does not promise constant output. Under favourable conditions, a panel can even exceed its rated power.
