Off grid living and learning

🏔️ We Almost Have It Figured Out. Almost. My wife and I saved everything we had to go fully off-grid. Not a weekend cabin. Our only home — sitting at the bottom of a narrow Columbia River valley. Six 580W bifacial panels feed our DELTA Pro Ultra through the High PV input. When the sun hits, we run our whole home on sunshine. It's everything we dreamed of. Here's the problem. Twice a year the valley wins. Winter: the ridge on the south side blocks the sun completely for 2.5 months. The panels just sit there. Summer: the rocky mountain face radiates heat back into the valley and six panels can't keep up with AC demand. A mountain stream runs down to our property. A $500 hydro generator off that stream would solve both seasons — but the hydro only works through a High PV input, which our solar already occupies. Without a second Ultra, buying the hydro generator makes no sense. Then we tried our low PV port with smaller panels. It started smoking and died. High PV still works, but we don't know the internal damage. EcoFlow is replacing the unit — incredible support — but we can't ship it away while it's our only power source. Our old Delta Pro doesn't run our appliances properly. We're stuck. A second DELTA Pro Ultra fixes everything. Ship the damaged one for repair. Run the house. Come summer, solar on one High PV, hydro on the other. Completely living off of Delta Ultra's with no gas generator. Finally. Done. We're so close it hurts. 😅#PowerDifferent #OffGrid #EcoFlow #DeltaProUltra
