App Telemetry: The invisible "Standby" drain of the AC inverter

If you leave your AC inverter turned on overnight with absolutely nothing plugged into the wall outlets, you might wake up to find your battery has dropped by 10% or more, even though the EcoFlow app proudly displayed "0W" of output all night.This is not a defective battery. This is the inverter's baseline standby consumption. The hardware requires a constant, steady pull of energy just to keep the internal transformer energized and actively converting DC to 120V AC, ready for a plug. If you want to conserve your absolute maximum battery capacity during a long blackout, always make sure you physically turn the AC button OFF when you aren't actively running a device.

Hardware Tip: Charging your station via a gas generator during extended outages

When a major storm hits and the grid is down for several days, solar power isn't always enough if the sky stays cloudy. A lot of people fire up a traditional gas generator to quickly recharge their units. However, because the station wants to pull its maximum AC wattage instantly, that sudden massive load can actually stall the engine or trip the breaker on a smaller portable gas generator! The best trick is to open the EcoFlow app, drop the "AC Charging Speed" to its minimum setting (like 100W), plug the station into the running generator, and then slowly slide the wattage back up. This gives the generator's engine time to ramp up its RPMs smoothly, letting you find the exact sweet spot it can handle without surging.

12v Lifepo4 Batteries

EcoFlow should think about releasing a new version of their Lifepo4 battery, but this time with Bluetooth and with different voltages (i.e. 25.6v, 38.4v, and 51.2v). Their previous (now discontinued) iteration was a pretty well-built and well reviewed product.

Power usage daily log

Our power company post our energy use everyday on their page for us to see. Since we have bought our Delta3+, it is a page i check everyday. I also keep a log here in our home to see what we were using to compare with the log they have. We have changed quite a bit to get better use of the rates they charge. Car charging, laundry,cooking is all done at off peak hours. I have found out it is not all power banks and solar systems, it is a combination of scheduling how you use energy in your home, getting the right system to help lower the energy use and appliances to help cut power comsumption.

Question on how many use their dul fuel generators?

Have had mine about a year not needed it for refilling delta systems so far solar has kept me from using out of need, even during a few short outages. Just wondering how many really get to use them. It is a great addition, just unused so far other than test firing and charging battery.

EcoFlow 45W vs 60W Foldable Solar Panels ☀️

Seeing these two panels side-by-side really shows the difference in size and portability. The 45W is a great compact option, while the 60W gives you a little more charging capability while still being easy to take with you.I tested both in good sunshine and was impressed with the real-world results. The 45W reached 39W, while the 60W reached 59W, showing how close both came to their rated output. It’s nice having options depending on how much power you need and how portable you want your setup to be. ☀️

My Farmstead System

It's not much... but it's a start. We've got a tiltable array that can hold 16 - 450 watt bifacial panels. The tilting works great and one person can move the array by themselves. We've got a SHP2 handling our critical circuits with 2 DPUs. Again, not much but something we can build upon in the future.

Safety Feature: What actually happens if you accidentally overload the AC inverter?

A common fear among new units owners is accidentally plugging in a heavy appliance (like a 1500W microwave or a large space heater) when they forgot to turn X-Boost on. People worry they might "fry" the motherboard or blow an internal fuse that requires taking the unit apart. Rest assured, the built-in overload protection is virtually bulletproof. If you pull 1000W+ from the standard 500W inverter, the station doesn't break; the internal BMS simply detects the massive current spike, instantly cuts power to the AC ports, and flashes an "Overload" error on the display and the app. To fix it, you literally just unplug the heavy appliance, turn the AC button off, and turn it back on. The system resets instantly with zero hardware damage. The engineers made these units incredibly safe for everyday mistakes.

Let There Be EcoFlow Light! 💡

The EcoFlow Lantern has become one of those accessories I’m glad I have. I like being able to adjust the brightness and color temperature depending on what I’m doing, and the built-in hooks make it easy to hang wherever I need light. The fact that it can also charge a phone or another small USB device is a nice bonus.

Using the Energy graphs to track your neighborhood's blackout stats

For those of us using our units permanently in EPS mode to combat an unreliable local grid, it’s easy to lose track of exactly how often the power actually drops during the month. One of my favorite, highly underrated features in the EcoFlow app is the historical "Energy" data section. Instead of just looking at the live, real-time telemetry, you can switch to the weekly or monthly view. By checking the historical "Output" graphs, you can pinpoint the exact days and hours your station had to step in and supply power. It essentially turns your power station into a smart diagnostic tool for your house. I use it to see exactly how many kilowatt-hours of backup energy I actually needed over the course of a month. It is a fantastic way to visually track the stability of your local grid.
