Delta Pro + Transfer Switch

This is how my electrician hooked up my Delta Pro to my electrical panel. Six lines are hooked up to the transfer switch and are powered by the battery using the apps energy management. It works great. I use it to power one dehumidifier in the basement and one in the master bedroom.

Our power just went out so I grabbed the river 3 to run the modem and router for internet. Quite handy, only had a few minutes of downtime.

My Farmstead System

It's not much... but it's a start. We've got a tiltable array that can hold 16 - 450 watt bifacial panels. The tilting works great and one person can move the array by themselves. We've got a SHP2 handling our critical circuits with 2 DPUs. Again, not much but something we can build upon in the future.

I am in search of understanding what is the best way to store a Deltra Pro Ultra X? I live in Texas where my garage can at times reach hot temperatures. Would this cause overheating and damage to the longevity of the bak up home system?

Weather Prep: Adjusting your charge limits before a tropical storm hits

I usually advocate for setting the "Maximum Charge Level" in the EcoFlow app to 85% or 90% for daily EPS use to preserve battery lifespan and reduce voltage stress on the cells. However, situational awareness is key. Since we are right in the middle of hurricane season, whenever the local weather radar shows a major tropical storm approaching, the very first thing I do is open the app and push that slider back up to a full 100%. Don't sacrifice your emergency runtime for long-term battery health when a multi-day blackout is highly likely. Get every single watt-hour you can, and once the storm passes and the grid stabilizes, you can simply slide it back down to your daily maintenance level.

Testing Eco Flow Smart Generator adapter with Delta 2 Max Extra Battery

Over the next day or so, I will test my Smart generator Adapter with my new Delta 3 Max Plus and a Delta 2 Max extra battery.All firmware is up to date.I read the pamphlet that came with the adapter, and it is called a "Delta Pro" Smart generator adapter. It also does not show anything about connecting a Delta 2 Max EB with a Delta 3 Max plus so before I test, I want to know if anyone has done successfully or has any comments.It looks pretty straight forward but with this much at stake I want to confirm anything I may not know before testing. TIA

Feature Request for Delta series

I think it would be nice to have a RJ45 connection on the Delta Max 3 series. I am not sure if high models have this but having the ability to communicate with a Delta Max hardwired would be a good thing when one cannot connect with the App.Now that the Ecoflow Delta Max 3 Plus and others are UPS grade, I think it's important to have a back up, hardwired connection to at least do basic functions. I am not sure if the new Gen are medical grade backups but if they are a back up, hardwired connection is in order.

Added Solar Panels

I finally added some more solar panels and switched some arrays around between my three DPUs and now it’s recharging them all in a more balanced fashion. Instead of having two 5-stack DPUs and one at 2-stack DPU, I can put it back to three 4-stack batteries again. So now, my EcoFlow panels outproduce my Enphase at 8.2kWh (between three DPUs) vs 7.2kWh peak for Enphase.

Ecoflow 45 watt panel first look

I just received the Ecoflow 45 watt panel. It has USB-C connection as I expected but also has a DC5521 connection which I was not aware of. It also comes with a DC5521 to XT60i cable.I plan on putting this panel in my bug out bag. A little bit of power is better than no power. Also Like the direct connection to USB-C. Now I just need to test with decent USB-CPD cables to see what I get.I may also test with one of my Deltas with the XT60i cable.It has a nice build quality.

Ecoholic Ground Mounts - Day 4 - Concrete

The concrete truck showed up at about 7:30am, left at around 10am. Some lessons learned for next array: (1) I need to buy a vibrating agitator to help the concrete settle and remove air gaps. I ended up doing this the old fashioned way taking a long stick and butter churning - I now have Popeye arms as a result(2) All the posts moved a little as the concrete flowing down the chute hit it. I needed much stouter bracing as once you get to a certain height, there’s no way I can physically move the post in the concrete slurry. The good news is all those holes at the top are to give me some leeway for the trusses when the post isn’t perfectly aligned. The Z Purlins (panel support bars going across trusses) also have a lot of play in them and I could drill new holes if needed.Now I am waiting for concrete to cure. 7 days before adding any rack mount parts and 14 days before adding solar panels. I’ll be planning and buying parts for the wiring and trenching, grounding rods, and if I still have time cleaning up the garage to prep for manual transfer switch and SHP2 install.

Today’s Solar Production for my EcoFlow and Enphase panels. This is the first time where the EF dedicated panels outproduced the Enphase side (46.64kWh vs 45.7kWh) totaling 92.34kWh.

Automation Tip: Making sure your AC inverter survives a 0% dead battery.

If you use your unit for EPS backup while you are away from home, there is a specific scenario you need to plan for. If a blackout lasts for days and your station completely drains to 0% and shuts off, what happens when the grid power finally comes back? By default, the unit will turn on and start recharging, but the AC inverter will remain OFF until you manually press the button. If you have critical devices plugged in (like a security camera or router), they will stay dead. To fix this, dive into the EcoFlow app's "Automation" or "Lab Features" section and enable "AC Always On" or create a routine that automatically turns the AC output back on as soon as the unit reaches a certain charge level (like 10%). This ensures your critical gear reboots automatically without you having to be physically in the room.

Peace of Mind

I primarily bought my EcoFlow system for back up peace of mind when power goes out. However, I use it from 1 PM to 11:30 PM daily on weekdays to energize essentials on the first floor where we spend most of our time after work; this includes lights, WiFi, hvac, microwave, refrigerators, outlets in living room and kitchen and air fryer and exercise equipments. It also supports basement lights and 2nd floor lights, and attic fan. It is great to see reduction in my peak-hour electric usage. Solar panels recharge during the day. I don’t use batteries during the weekends, allowing batteries to top off with solar. I am finally beating comparable homes in my neighborhood in electric efficiency usage. I am on PECO time of use plan.
