Delta 3 Max Real World Review
A couple of weeks ago I ordered a bundle that included the Delta 3 Max (D3M). Since I have plenty of experience with the Delta 2 Max (D2M), using it to power just about anything, I used it as the comparison unit.EF has re-positioned the outlets for the D3M so both the AC & DC outlets are on the same side as the Screen. All of the charging input options are on the opposite end of the station behind a nice retractable door. On the D2M the screen is on the DC outlet side. As one might expect, in order to fit all the outlets on the same side as the screen, the amount of outlets has been reduced. If you need lots of outlets, then the D2M is the better option. Another way Ecoflow has listened to feedback is that the cooling fans were moved from the sides (on the D2M) to front and back (on the D3M). This allows for fitting in a tighter space without blocking the fans, like for use in a camper set up.The first thing I tried it on was my microwave. This is a 2014, 1000w output, 1500w input over-the-range beast. I’ve had some stations, that should be able to run this kitchen equipment, cause issues. The microwave was happy to run with the D3M as its power source. The D2M is a solid 50 pounds. The D3M is noticeably lighter at a little under 45 pounds. I believe the weight is reduced by reducing the solar inputs to 1 x 500w (whereas the D2M has 2x inputs). There is NOT an extra battery capability. If you need those functions, then look at the Delta 3 Max Plus. You would need the XT150 adapter to plug into the solar port to use an AltC to charge it.The D3M app can tell you how much you have charged by solar and how much by electricity. The Delta 3 Max is a nice balance of weight and capability. It handled everything I threw at it. Solar input is a bit limited, at 1 PV input port. If you live in a nice sunny area, I don't think it will be a serious limitation. But my planned, main usage for the D3M will not involve use of solar, so it has its place in my stable
