Solar Tip: "Over-paneling" to guarantee maximum input during cloudy days.
I frequently see new users ask if they can connect a larger solar panel to their units than the official 220W maximum rating.
The answer is yes, and it’s a brilliant strategy called "over-paneling", as long as you strictly respect the unit's 50V maximum voltage limit (Voc).
The station's internal MPPT controller will only draw the amperage it safely needs (up to 13A). By using a larger panel setup, you can guarantee that your unit still pulls close to its maximum 220W input even when the sky gets completely overcast. It is the best way to maintain fast charging speeds during the rainy season.
