23hr power outage sump pump running every 2 min

Had our delta2 max over a year and no power cuts. On Sunday we had a storm in the Midwest that took out power and estimated restore by consumers was 8hrs.

We were thrilled to test the delta2 max, cooked dinner with air fryer, powered tv & internet watched a movie . While our sump pump in the basement is turning on every 2 mins to handle the down pour. Power outage was 2pm - 10 pm still no power and now a restore estimate of 3am.

Wondering how long the marine battery will last on the sump pump sentry and not wanting the wake up to a flooded basement, decide to carry the delta 2 max up a small set of steps and down a long set of stairs into the basement.

So the delta 2 is powering the sump pump every 2 mins at 1kw draw and powering the sentry to charge the marine battery.

I go to bed hoping power will be restored at 3am and all will be well on wake up. 4am check power not restored and delta 2 max is in shut down mode . I wake up at 6 am power still not restored marine battery powering sump sentry. But no idea how charged the marine battery is.

Fortunately we have a EcoFlow 3000 generator sat in its box 13 months . Our cats loved the box and sit on it all the time 🤣 Upset the cats take the generator out the box read directions , connect the 12v starter battery , fill oil - attached propane from our grill. Turn to manual strike her up with one push of the start button and it runs perfectly . Give it a few mins to warm up run an extension into the basement to the delta 2 and it charges so fast!

Absolutely thrilled power finally restored at 1 pm - dry basement and all is well.

Now we need a delta 3 station so it can run automatically off the 3000 generator and the delta 2 max can be in the main house again.

Absolutely no regrets on our purchases , I was looking forward to testing them with a power cut but in a stressful situation these saved us thousands on a basement flood. If you have any spare $$ the generator is light, clean and a breeze to start.
