🧊Have You Ever Seen a Glacier in Person?

A glacier can look permanent—quiet, enormous, almost too old to change. But it’s changing faster than many of us realize.Since 1975, glaciers worldwide have lost more than 9 trillion tonnes of ice. In 2025 alone, another 408 billion tonnes disappeared—enough to fill five Olympic-sized swimming pools every second for an entire year.Researchers modelled more than 200,000 glaciers and found that with 1.5°C of warming, more than half could disappear by 2100. At 2.7°C, only around one-fifth may remain. Every fraction of a degree can affect how much ice survives. Between 1990 and 2020, glaciers across the Hindu Kush–Himalayan region lost about 12% of their area and 9% of their ice reserves. And the risks don’t end when the ice disappears. Rapid melting can destabilize mountain slopes and increase the risk of floods, avalanches, and landslides. Shrinking glaciers can also reduce dry-season river flows, while rising sea levels threaten coastal communities. The recent glacier and rock collapse near the Nepal–China border showed how quickly changes in the mountains can affect communities downstream. Across the United States, longer heat waves, heavier downpours, flash floods, and dangerous wildfire conditions are also becoming more familiar. This is one reason cleaner energy matters. Saving energy at home, choosing efficient appliances, and using solar panels where practical can all help reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. As home solar becomes more accessible, more households can generate electricity with fewer emissions. No single household can protect a glacier on its own. But millions of individual choices, supported by cleaner technology and stronger policies, can help slow the warming that puts them at risk.Have you ever seen a glacier or permanent snowfield in person? What natural place do you hope will still look the same 50 years from now?And if you use solar energy, what convinced you to make the switch? 🌍Sources: WGMS, WMO, ICIMOD, ETH Zurich, NOAA, and U.S. EPA

You have to be kidding

Last night our a/c decided it needed a break. So, this morning we took out Delta3+ to the sunroom where we have a portable a/c unit hooked it up to a fan to blow cool air into our Living room. Now we have cool air flowing in to the living room thanks to Delta3+. I can use the app to monitor the energy output for the fan, Tonight the tv will be hooked as we plan on retreating to a cool room.

I built a macOS menu bar app for EcoFlow — check your battery without touching your phone

Hey EcoFlow fam! I built a small macOS app called EFStatus that shows your battery stats right in the menu bar — no need to grab your phone or open the app every time you want to check what's going on.It shows:Battery % and Wh remainingWatts coming in and going outTime to full / time to emptyColor-coded bar so you know at a glance if you're good or running low 🟢🟠🔴Uses the official EcoFlow developer API so the data is real-time. I built it because I got tired of picking up my phone just to check if my DELTA 2 was still charging 😅If you're on a Mac and want to try it → bereto.gumroad.com/l/efstatusHappy to answer any questions here! And if you try it on a model other than DELTA 2 or DELTA 3, let me know how it goes 🙌

Mechanical Engineering: The hyperelastic physics behind EcoFlow's IP68 waterproof cable connections

When routing heavy-duty solar extensions or connecting Power Kits outside your rig, the cable junctions are exposed to torrential rain and deep puddles. EcoFlow uses aviation-style threaded connectors rated for IP68 (capable of continuous total immersion in water). The physics of keeping water out relies on the unique properties of elastomeric polymers.Unlike metals, the rubber O-rings inside these connectors have a Poisson’s ratio of roughly 0.5, meaning they are hyperelastic and virtually incompressible. They behave exactly like a highly viscous fluid that maintains a solid shape. When you screw the threaded collar together, you apply an axial mechanical load. Because the O-ring cannot compress its volume, the rubber undergoes radial deformation—it physically bulges outward, pressing fiercely against the inner walls of the gland. But here is where fluid physics (Pascal's Principle) takes over: if hydrostatic water pressure from a puddle tries to force its way into the connector, that external water pressure physically pushes against the rubber ring. Because the elastomer transfers pressure equally in all directions, the incoming water pressure actually forces the rubber to seal tighter against the opposite metal wall! Up to the material's extrusion limit, the deeper the water, the stronger the seal becomes.

I Just Said Goodbye to One of My EcoFlow Units

Winter is coming, so I decided to give my daughter my DELTA 2 with the extra battery. She lives in an apartment about 30 minutes away, and I want to know she has dependable backup power if the lights go out.She already has a RIVER, but now she has a DELTA 2 with more power and longer battery life. I also gave her my 220W portable solar panel so she can use the sun to help keep it charged.I think this is the perfect beginner setup for her apartment. I’m a little sad to see one of my units go, but knowing it will help keep my daughter safe makes me happy. Now I’m helping her build her own EcoFlow collection! 😂🔋☀️

Why I Keep My EcoFlow Power Stations on Dollies

After reading different posts in the forum, I realized how important it is to keep an EcoFlow power station on a dolly.I already use dollies because they make it much easier to roll my heavier units from room to room. Now I’m adding dollies to my basement setup to keep every power station off the floor.A leaking washing machine, a backed-up drain, heavy rain, or water creeping into the basement could damage a power station sitting directly on the floor. A dolly provides a little extra height and may protect it from a small amount of water. It will not protect it during serious flooding, but those few extra inches could make a difference.Dollies are also helpful because they:*Make heavy power stations easier and safer to move*Reduce the need to lift and carry them*Help protect floors from scratches*Make it easier to clean underneath and around the units*Keep the units away from damp or cold basement floors*Allow you to move them quickly during an emergencyJust make sure the dolly is strong enough to hold the full weight of the power station and any extra batteries. I also prefer dollies with locking wheels so the unit cannot roll around. Never block the vents, and always keep the power station in a dry area with enough space for airflow.A dolly may look like a small addition, but it can make your setup safer, cleaner, and much easier to move. After thinking about possible water damage in my basement or anywhere in the house, I believe every power station now needs one. 🔋⚡What are your thoughts about keeping power stations on dollies? Do you already use one, or are you thinking about adding one to your setup?

Could the EcoFlow PowerRock 4000 Change the Way You Work?

Alright EcoFlow Family, now this is a unit I would love to see come to the United States! The new PowerRock 4000 was made for people who need serious power while getting the job done.It has a3kWh battery, delivers 4,000W of steady power, and can push up to 7,200W for 100 seconds when equipment needs that extra boost. It can also fully recharge in about one hour.I could see this being useful for construction crews, food trucks, mobile businesses, outdoor events, landscaping companies, emergency workers, and people running a side hustle. You could have dependable power without dealing with the noise and fumes of a gas generator. It is launching in Europe first, but I’m hoping EcoFlow brings it our way too!Would the PowerRock 4000 be useful for your company or side hustle? What would you use it to power? And who else is excited for it to come to the United States? 🔋⚡

Thank you Ecoflow.

I would like to say a big thank you to Ecoflow for making a product range that is modern, clean and more user friendly than the usual, perhaps more obvious petrol generators. After about 35 years of waiting to get set up with some backup power for the house, that is very much appreciated.

Materials Science: The elastomeric buffer stopping your solar panels from tearing themselves apart

When you mount EcoFlow 400W Rigid Solar Panels on an RV roof, they sit directly in the blazing sun, routinely reaching surface temperatures of 170°F (75°C). At these temperatures, physics dictates that solid materials must expand. But here lies a massive engineering problem: the Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE).The tempered glass top layer expands at a rate of roughly 9 x 10⁻⁶ / K. However, the highly brittle monocrystalline silicon cells beneath it only expand at 2.6 x 10⁻⁶ / K. Because the glass expands more than three times faster than the silicon it is attached to, it creates extreme "Thermomechanical Shear Stress." Without a buffer, the expanding glass would instantly rip the silicon cells to pieces. To solve this, EcoFlow engineers laminate the cells using Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA). At high temperatures, the EVA operates above its glass-transition phase, acting as a highly cross-linked thermoplastic elastomer. It physically stretches and deforms at a microscopic level, absorbing the kinetic shear forces and completely isolating the fragile silicon from the violently expanding glass frame.

Stream 5000 was mir bisher gefällt, was nicht

Old school lighting.

In order to make our Ecoflow batteries run a little bit longer in the event of an outage, we’ve gone old school. We have non electric lighting in the form of,A Victorian oil lamp and we never have less than x100 (8 hour) tea light candles with enough matches for all of them. We've also added some rechargeable battery lamps which run for 9 hours each.

Power Electronics: The quantum-level "Self-Healing" inside high-power inverter capacitors

Inside high-power conversion hardware like the DELTA Pro Ultra and PowerOcean inverters, the DC-bus link must smooth out massive voltage ripple from incoming solar and battery lines. Traditionally, high-capacitance needs were met using electrolytic capacitors. However, electrolytic capacitors fail catastrophically under high ripple currents due to electrolyte drying and internal short circuits. To ensure long-term reliability, EcoFlow high-power architectures utilize Metallized Polypropylene Film Capacitors. Beyond their ultra-low Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR), these capacitors possess a physics property known as Dielectric Self-Healing. The capacitor's electrodes consist of an ultra-thin metal layer (aluminum or zinc) evaporated onto a polymer dielectric film at a thickness of only 20 to 50 nanometers. If a localized high-voltage transient causes a microscopic dielectric breakdown, an electric arc begins to form at the weak spot. However, because the electrode metallization is nanometer-thin, the high fault current density instantly creates a microscopic thermal plasma. In less than a microsecond, this localized heat completely vaporizes the thin metallic coating immediately surrounding the fault site. The metal vapor expands outward, leaving a clean, non-conductive boundary around the defect. The short circuit is cleared automatically without any drop in system capacitance or interruption to the inverter.

Label Your Cords Before the Lights Go Out 🔌⚡

I finally labeled all my extension cords. Sounds small, but it saves time when the lights go out.A piece of tape and a marker keeps me from crawling around trying to figure out which cord goes where. Now I know exactly which one is for the fridge, fan, lights, or whatever else I need.So when I’m running things off my EcoFlow during an outage, I can grab the right cord and get everything connected without all the guessing.Simple, easy, and one less thing to worry about. 🔌⚡🔋

Delta 3 Ultra +

The Delta 3 Ultra + working hard. I've been bombarded by FB with crispy pork belly reels since I watched one. I finally decided to try it using an airfyer (no oil splash and burns). Having Ecoflow around and having solar recharge it makes it easy to decide using high energy usage appliances. It takes at least 40 minutes, so that's a lot of high wattage use. Play the video if you want to hear the crispy crunchy yummy delicacy. 😋
